One fateful evening in March 2019, 5 enthusiasts of tone, pure passion and geekery converged in a rural shed-converted studio. Their intention was to create something that could be felt as deeply as it could be heard.

The Gossamer Project, who has now been rechristened Gossamer, committed to a vision based on textures and feel. High speed travel down orange stretches of a desert landscape. Wind at your face. Dark shades. Jameson whiskey.

And against insurmountable odds, we did prevail. A collective bout of the flu didn’t stop us, nor did the weather, time, hangovers, or real life commitments seem to interrupt the outpouring of ideas and commitment to the dream. We made decisions as a group. Everything had to work for all present, or it was discarded or reworked until everyone felt it.

We had a blast making this. In many ways, it was some of the happiest times I’ve ever had making a record. I hope that joy is encoded in the DNA of the work, and to my admittedly biased ears, I believe it has.

My advice? Sit back, and let the Gossamer experience wash over you. These guys deserve to be soaked in on a spiritual level.
